The Karner Blue Butterfly has been listed as endangered since 1992 due to habitat loss. Like the Monarch, the Karner Blue relies on a single food source - wild lupine. This relies on a single food source - wild lupine. Southeast Minnesota is one of the the few places the Karner Blue is still found.
