Alpaca are sheared once a year and baby alpaca wool is gathered from the very first shearing. It is the finest, softest grade of alpaca fiber.
 
Alpaca is one of the most eco-friendly and sustainable fibers. It is incredibly soft, does not contain lanolin (so is considered hypoallergenic), and is also much warmer than wool.
